Explore the latest MPVs launching soon in India, including the MG M9, Kia Clavis EV, and other exciting models from top automakers targeting the family and electric segments.
MG M9, Kia Clavis EV, and more MPVs set for launch soon in India’s growing passenger vehicle segment.

The MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) segment in India has long been dominated by household names like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6. However, the market landscape is shifting rapidly with the arrival of newer players like the Kia Carens and now, the Kia Clavis. Affordable pricing, evolving customer preferences, and increasing demand for family-friendly vehicles under ₹15 lakh have intensified competition in this space. Here’s a look at some of the most anticipated upcoming MPVs set to hit Indian roads soon.
1. Kia Clavis EV
After the successful launch of the Kia Clavis, the company is now gearing up to introduce its electric avatar — the Kia Clavis EV. Slated for launch next month in India, the Clavis EV is expected to bring both exterior upgrades and enhanced cabin features.
Reports suggest that the Clavis EV could be powered by a powertrain similar to the upcoming Creta Electric, potentially offering a range of over 450 km. Two battery variants are likely to be offered, alongside a large touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, and advanced safety features — all in line with Kia’s commitment to safety and comfort.
2. MG M9 Electric Luxury MPV
British automaker MG Motor is also entering the premium MPV segment with its upcoming MG M9, an all-electric luxury vehicle. Though details remain limited, the MG M9 is expected to launch later this year, exclusively through MG Select dealerships.
The MG M9 will reportedly feature:
- A 90 kWh battery pack
- 245 BHP and 350 Nm torque
- An estimated range of 430 km
- Premium features and styling, similar in silhouette to the Kia Carnival
Available in three color options, the MG M9 is expected to launch at a starting price of around ₹60 lakh, positioning it as a direct rival to other luxury MPVs in India.
3. Nissan Compact MPV
Joining the list is a new 7-seater MPV from Nissan, which is rumored to be a badge-engineered version of the Renault Kiger, based on the CMF-A+ platform. This compact MPV is expected to offer a cost-effective alternative in the segment, appealing to families looking for practicality and affordability.
Under the hood, the vehicle may come with:
- A 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine
- A 1.0L turbocharged petrol option
In addition to the MPV, Nissan is also working on a new 5-seater SUV, hinting at the brand’s aggressive expansion plans in the Indian market.
As the demand for multi-seater vehicles continues to grow, automakers are pushing boundaries by combining affordability, tech features, and electrification. Whether you're looking for a budget-friendly family car or a luxury electric MPV, 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for MPV buyers in India.
